Zero-day vulnerability rate doubles in past year

The number of zero-day vulnerabilities discovered by security researchers has more than doubled in the last 12 months.
This is according to a new report from Symantec, which found the number of such vulnerabilities, which could be used by hackers to gain access to a business' network, increased by 125 per cent in 2015 to 54, meaning more than one zero-day weakness was found every week.
The firm's latest Internet Security Threat Report noted: "Discovering unknown vulnerabilities and figuring out how to exploit them has clearly become a go-to technique for advanced attackers, and there is no sign of this trend changing." read more
